Bali Sharks is a conservation alternative to the killing of young sharks.  It contains a nursery where sharks that have been caught are saved, studied and returned to deeper water after they have matured.  25 sharks were saved in 2011 and the nursery currently houses 16 Black and White Tip Reef pups & juveniles.

   A few fun Shark Facts: -Sharks have been swimming the ocean for 400 million years
(100 million earlier than dinosaurs) -Sharks can live up to 100 yrs old -Great Whites can go 2 months without eating
-Sharks can smell 1 part per million of blood in water
-Smallest shark is Deepwater Dogfish - only up to 8 inches
-Sharks lose up to 10,000 teeth a lifetime and replace them in 24 hours
-An estimated 250 shark species are found in Indonesian waters
(about half of all species) -Shark numbers in areas declined by more than 90 percent -In 2008 Indonesia became the world’s top shark-catching country (109,248 tons)

-As many as 73 million sharks are killed each year for their fins
-Shark fins can contain high levels of arsenic, mercury and other poison substances
