This is a friendly reminder that this Sunday, September 23, 2012 is our annual Shoreline / Underwater Clean-Up Dive followed by Pepe’s famous Cuban Pig Roast / Pot Luck here at the dive shop.

Adventure Divers together with Project Aware and thousands of other dive centers / clubs worldwide will join forces this month to help keep our waters clean.  The dive site we will be cleaning up is our local Otonabee River site on Nassau Mills Rd located just north of Lock 23 at a small conservation area along the river intersecting with the 9th Line.  Most of you are familiar with this dive site.  Last year we were able to haul out 400 kilos of man made waste from plastic bottles to old rubber tires.  Divers are to meet at the dive site for 10am bring a big mesh bag to collect debris in the water or large plastic bins to put the debris in afterward.  Humberto and I will take everything to the dump / recycle on Monday.  Following our efforts we invite you to join us for a fun dive social at our house / dive shop.  Bring lawn chairs and your appetite, if you can contribute a dessert or salad that would be great – also BYOB.  I have the biggest fire pit ever which looks like we will need lit as it is forecasted to be a little cool this Sunday.  Let’s show the world and our marine life that we care, join us in this great cause on Sunday morning.  I hope to see you there.
