Its the same pile I have been working to free from around an underwater pipe for weeks. The pipe itself is actually 2 pipes approx. 0.5 meters circumference each, running side my side and connected. the bottom half of the pipes are buried in sand, so getting to the core of the mass and freeing it is an effort.

Fishing lure. Looks to be exactly the same kind/style/color I found last week. Possibly the men who claimed it from me last week used it afterward, and hung it up again~~

Unlike the previous weeks, I was not able to free and whole pieces. Everything today was more or less a portion of something much larger buried in the sand around the pipe. I did spend a bit of time fanning away sand trying to get as deep as I could and cut free as much as possible. Todays mission ( 2 tanks) was more about cutting scraps free to get to the sand underneath the debris so future dives I can get closer and closer to the core mass. Of note, the area was full of small crabs. I felt somewhat bad removing their shelter as they here hiding out within the wafting cloth rags. One particular large adult seemed pretty angry. I watched him flee initially, only to come back some minutes later giving me the raised pincer threat, then away again. Towards the end I saw him leaving his temporary hiding space rather quickly as if he just gave up out of frustration. Report Notes: 1. The metal fragments I reported were some sort of hooks/swivel on the net fragments. They seemed to have once been hooks but all were bent and straightened somewhat. 2. The cloth fragments I reported ( as well as misc. plastic) are very conservative numbers. The mesh bag pictures is half full of single strips of cloth, and probably 40-50 pieces of a type of black nylon rops that has a plastic cover on them. They were so small and light I didn't bother to remove them from the mesh bag as they would have blown all over the beach.
