A separate beach clean-up was also conducted with local non-divers as part of our effort to protect the dive site we frequent. Considerably more litter was found on land than underwater, raging from swimming goggles to cigarette butts. Fortunately we were able to remove them from the proximity before they become marine debris.
Visitors come to the beach often in summer, consequently a lot of food packaging was found underwater.

Everything recovered from the seabed was extracted thanks to the support of cranes installed on the dock and of support barges. The maneuver consisted of the divers collecting small garbage in big bags and large debris such as tires were tied with a rope so that everything could later be lifted with a crane.

The Chonchi Port Captaincy led an operation to clean the beach and the seabed at the Fiscal Wharf Ramo, which allowed the collection of 40 tons of waste.
The operation took place during the day this Monday and had the participation of environmental institutions, Sea Cleaner Divers. voluntaries and various companies related to the maritime sector.

The operation also made it possible to collect a total of 50 kilos of garbage for recycling, including cans and plastic.
