Earlier this year 2018 with the help of extremely dedicated instructor staff ( Thanks Minni Vangsgaard and Marcus Pinewald) who co-ordinated the original fund raising event at Assava Dive Resort for he new Junk Yard Project - Crystal Dive Resort Koh Tao Thailand.  With the motivation of our PADI Divemaster Candidates ( Jessica Smith,  Stefan Stevens, Ivy Stijn and Phillip Wust) who participated in the fun raiser to raise the money - that provide a structure to be submerged at Junk Yard, for coral reef restoration.

Following the Fundraising event, our DMC as above mentioned, helped mould the structure and design the Assava Seahorse which is incredible !!! Learning to use the tools with the assistance of Simon and Jennifer Dowling they were successful in creating the masterpiece.  It took some time for the deployment of the structure - but the Assava Pyramid is now submerged.

To keep an update of the events that have occurred since - our original DMC created and implemented this program but a huge thank you to you all as we are now continuing to monitor and learn to keep this structure growing.  

Our current Assava DMC - (Tim Crawly and Cynthia Knuppe along with instructor Jack Van Geel ) - helped with the recent coral planting as per Jennifer Dowling Post on the ECO Koh Tao - Crystal Divers Group mentions: 

" An awesome day out today with Jack, Cynthia and Niall from Assava Dive Resort starting at Twin Peaks for a ' Dive Against Debri' dive and then onto Junkyard.  We collected 5 corals from our nursery and headed over to the Junkyard expansion , swimming past the Mazu and onto Assava Pyramid.  We transplanted 5 in total.  It was totally a group effort as guys transported the corals, cleaned the sturcture, measured the corals while Dorothy and I secured the corals. "

It is just amazing the efforts that are contributed by all the dive centres on Koh Tao and we are very fortunate to have had this opportunity to join the Crystal Eco Team with the artificial reef program.  Thank you !
