We did a beach cleanup in combination with the underwater Cleanup. on the shore line was around 1 Km of coastal line cleaned and we collected 260 Kg of trash, bottles, plastic a lot of baby wipes. on land we had just a small group of 10 volunteers for about 4 hours.
Public beach at the area.

Haleiwa Trench

It looked like a trash bag was thrown from a boat and settled at the bottom of the trench because more of the trash was in a tight area. The fishing line could have come from a boat or the nearby shore.
The turtle was on a shelf about 45 feet down in the trench with about 60 feet of fishing line wrapped around his shell, three legs, and neck. I cut him loose in less than two minutes while my dive buddies blocked his retreat. We didn’t have to touch him much.
A glass bottle that was made in 1938.
