Bordering the beach is a fish taverna being the likely source of the large quantity of bottles, glasses, plastic ash trays, etc.
The clean-up was jointly organized by SUP-PORT, Sea Shepherd Greece, Beach Cleaning and Blue Yard Hub with the support of various other groups including the local coast guard as well as the municipality of Markopoulo. This collaboration resulted in great team-work with the divers being assisted by the SUP participants and a beach clean up happening as well!

We are very happy to see Villingili channel almost free of debris. Anything we found was there for a long time already and mostly glass/metal covered with coral growth already with some other life in/on it so we decided to leave it.
