Dive Against Debris at Kata Bay, 25/10/2020

divers returned with trash
updates

Despite constant rain on this past Sunday morning, Rumblefish Adventure PADI 5* IDC Center joined by nine dedicated divers for our first of Dive Against Debris Event for Phuket high season. Three teams of 3 divers collected almost 40kg of plastic debris and discarded gill nets during their 60 minutes underwater.

Most of the deadly plastics were single used products: cups, wrappers, branded bags, bottle caps. We found trash from neighboring countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar and as far as India.

As Thailand borders remained closed to all travelers and visitors, our local divers made up of expats (Italy, China, England and USA) and Thai professionals, giving up their free time on a Sunday to join in on the dive. We hope to continue our Care & Share Initiative 2020 into November with another Event to clear more debris, as the weather will get nicer and less rain.

Sending much love to the caring nine participating divers in sharing their love for our reef!

Image removed.
