We only have one ocean!

We only have ONE Ocean to save.
updates

Good afternoon, divers in the world!

This is KyungHyuk Kwon again from Seahorsedive, Cebu Philippines. My great staffs who were not having any schedule, a student of mine(MSD student) and I held an ocean celan up day for the whole day. It is rare that more than two instructors are free on the same day, and also since my MSD student was here, thought we could do something meaningful for the day.

We separated our coastal area into two little section, and went out with a boat to clean up those two sections.

Even though it were only small areas just in front of our shop, there were quite a lot of wastes that we could pick up.

Some of the bottles and wastes were already became parts of habitats for some species underwater which made us unable to bring up to the surface. We carefully searched and observed such items before we picked them up.

It was really unpleasant to see such scene. We took away the proper habitats for the lives underwater by littering.

When we got back on the surface, not only we cleaned inside the ocean, but also we separated the litters into categories to sort out and to find causes of this waste problems after we came outside the ocean. Also we classified the items to recycle at the end of the event.

I hope to raise our awareness of not littering and keep our ocean clean for ocean and us are in the symbiotic relationship. Especially for us DIVERS! No ocean, No diving.

We only have ONE ocean to keep safe and clean for us all. There is only one ocean, just one. Let's keep this in mind and be aware.

* p.s. Through this posting, I would like to express gratitudes to the staffs who came along with me. Thank you Matt, Jay and Mr.Kim.

SEA YOU AGAIN!
